Dana White Believes ‘You Can’t Judge’ Israel Adesanya on the Jan Blachowicz Fight

Israel Adesanya is one of the best fighters in the UFC and has been for many years. However, after Adesanya lost his last fight against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259, many people criticized the fighter. ‘The Last Stylebender’ had moved up a weight class to fight Blachowicz and suffered his first MMA loss in the process.

Many people from all around the globe started questioning Adesanya’s abilities and took shots at him. However, UFC President Dana White supported Adesanya and had even lauded him for trying the move up. Now as Adesanya is all set to Marvin Vettori in his next fight, White shared his views on the same.

“I don’t know; I think we can’t underestimate how hard it is to move up a weight class. When you move up a weight class in this sport, it’s not like moving up 1 or 2 pounds. I mean these guys move up you know big weights, so it’s very hard to do. And you can’t judge him on this fight after his last fight, you just can’t do it.”

Moving up a weight class is very difficult and very few fighters have actually done so with success. White knows the sport well and therefore talks about how Adesanya should not be judged based on the Jan Blachowicz fight.

Will Israel Adesanya successfully defend his title for the third time?

Israel Adesanya won and unified the UFC middleweight championship at UFC 243. ‘Stylebender’ defeated Robert Whittaker via a second-round KO and won that fight. Since then Adesanya has successfully defended his title 2 times against Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa, respectively.

While Adesanya lost his last fight against Blachowicz via a unanimous decision. He is now back in his preferred weight class and would look to get back to winning ways.

This is not the first fight between Adesanya and ‘The Italian Dream’ as they had earlier competed at the UFC on Fox 29 event. Adesanya had won that fight via a split decision.

The rematch between these fighters will be a treat as both fighters have improved a lot since then. Vettori has won 5 consecutive fights since that loss and will cause genuine problems to Adesanya.
