DK Metcalf Picks up a New Sport After Track & Field, This Time for Charity

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf became a bit of a phenomenon over the course of last season. The wideout from Ole Miss took the league by storm in his second season by registering over 1,300 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Enough to earn him a Pro Bowl call up, Metcalf is now viewed as the Seahawks’ key aerial target for the years to come. What sets the wide receiver apart from his competition is his freakish body frame.

Standing at 6’4″ and weighing close to 230 lbs, Metcalf isn’t built like the average NFL receiver. Opposition secondaries have a tough time bringing down the man-mountain. But that is if they can catch him.

Despite his size, Metcalf is one of the fastest in the league. The wide receiver clocked in an incredible 4.33 40-yard-dash at the 2019 NFL Combine.

This later prompted the wide receiver to give professional track and field a shot. Just last month, Metcalf ran in the USTAF Golden Games. The event is a part of the qualifying process for athletes to represent Team USA in the Olympic Games.

While Metcalf did finish last in his heat, he put up a more than respectable attempt. Running the 100-yard-dash with a time of 10.37, the wide receiver won the respect of fans across the globe.

With his track and field days now behind him, Metcalf looks to dabble with another sport. But this time, for the sake of charity.

DK Metcalf to feature in MLB All-Star Game

Metcalf has been spending some time away from football by taking part in other sporting events. After the Golden Games, the Seahawks wide receiver is now set to take part in a charity softball game at the MLB All-Star Games set to be held in Denver next month.

While the event will feature other celebrities from different fields, Metcalf is set to be the sole representative from the NFL.

MLB All-Star week is set to kick off from July 11 at Coors Field. And NFL fans surely shouldn’t look to miss out on the opportunity to see the up-and-coming wide receiver hit the ball out of the park.
