As Nadal is from Mallorca, which is the largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, he has always been fond of oceans.

“I love being away with my people, my friends, my family in special places in nature and that normally helps me to come back to the competition with positive feelings.”

Refreshing yourself

Nadal says that bonding with nature helps him to recharge his batteries and enter a competition with a positive feeling. However, keeping up a positive attitude before entering a tournament is as hard as it can get because the thoughts of the previous competition will still float in his mind.

Over the past few years, Nadal was unfortunate because of his injuries which sidelined him for many matches. In those times, it was the vacations and the time off that Nadal took to connect with his surroundings that enabled him to come back much stronger.
