Max Verstappen Taking an Indirect Dig at Mercedes Over Their F1 Pit-Stop Blunders
Red Bull and Mercedes have been arch-rivals as they have an ongoing intense battle for this year’s title. Max Verstappen may have just added fuel to the fire by slyly calling the Silver Arrows slow in their pit stops.
It is a fact that the Brackley-based squad have at times botched their pit stops. The most notable was at the Sakhir GP last season, which ruined the race for George Russell and Valtteri Bottas. And the most recent at the Monaco GP, where wheel gun failed and yet Bottas was the victim and had to retire.

As quoted from Motorsport.total.com, Verstappen said, “It’s clear: Nobody is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. But so far I think that we have made fewer mistakes in the championship fight.”
“I trust my team. Every time I pit, I know 99.9 percent that the pit stop will be great. It’s a very nice feeling,” Max concluded. (Translated from German via Google)

The pit stop that ruined Monaco for the Silver Arrows
The Brackley-based squad weren’t where they wanted to be for the race. As Lewis Hamilton wasn’t in the front row but in seventh place. While Bottas did give the team hope by starting second.
However, It all went downhill when the Finnish driver was called into the pits to change the tyre. The wheel gun failed to remove the front right tyre and leaving for Bottas stranded and eventually had to retire from the Grand Prix itself.
Meanwhile, Hamilton couldn’t come into the pits as they were trying to help Bottas. He had to stay on track for a couple of more laps, In Lewis finished the race in seventh place, losing the opportunity to score maximum points need to regain the lead for the championship.
The Brackley-based squad will want to learn from this mistake, as they want it to occur again and do more damage to their title hopes. Currently Red Bull sits on top of the constructor’s championship with 174, while rivals Mercedes behind them with just 148 points.
After failing to score any points in Baku, as Hamilton came 15th and Bottas 12th. The team looks to the French GP as a way of bouncing back and come back stronger. But the question remains, will they redeem themselves or suffer another horrifying weekend? Let us know in the comments below.
