Jeremiah Nakathila will box Shakur Stevenson for the WBO 130 lbs (Interim) title fight on June 12. Although Stevenson is the undefeated boxer between them, Nakathila can bring in some serious trouble for ‘Fearless’.
While casual boxing fans might tout Shakur Stevenson as the favorite, traditional fans would also give a chance to Jeremiah Nakathila. 21-1 as a professional, the African native has had a commendable run in his career so far.
He has never won a world title and has remained away from boxing’s mainstream attention. That said, Nakathila holds a perfect nickname. Here’s a look at ‘Low Key’.
Jeremiah Nakathila- ‘Low Key’ star of boxing
Nakathila began his professional journey in 2013 and remained unbeaten until 2016. Meanwhile, he grabbed several titles, such as the WBO Africa title, WBO Global title, and many more on his rise to the top. But he hasn’t received an exceptional payday or opponent yet.
So, he will have a massive opportunity against Shakur Stevenson and will resurrect himself as a valid top-tier name in the active roster. He already seems ready for the challenge. Despite being considered an underdog by many, ‘Low Key’ believes he is ready to land the upset.
Speaking with The Ring, Nakathila said, “Finally, I have an opportunity to introduce myself to the world.”
“Stevenson is a great fighter, he was a champion, the darling of U.S. boxing, but he will, for the very first time, be facing a true African warrior. It will be a fight like none he has ever had to deal with. We take nothing away from Stevenson, but this is going to be a hell of a fight till the very end, and we are confident of delivering a sweet victory.”

Nakathila was born in Namibia and resides in the Walvis Bay region. He was honed at the MTC Nestor Sunshine Gym and is an inspiration for many in his hometown. Unfortunately, he hasn’t appeared in any big fights in his home country. However, ‘Low Key’ has made a good name for himself in the fighting community.
