‘Border Patrol van driver and several migrants injured’ after truck carrying detainees rolled over in Texas

A CUSTOMS and Border Patrol (CBP) agent and up to six migrants have reportedly been injured after a truck transporting detainees crashed in Texas on Thursday.

The CBP vehicle overturned along Interstate 10 near Van Hor just after 6.20am, the agency confirmed in a statement.

Border Patrol officials said the vehicle involved in the crash was being driven by an agent who was transporting detainees to a nearby facility.

Multiple injuries were reported at the scene, with CBP saying “medical assistance was requested”.

However, a specific number of those hurt, or the extent of the injuries suffered, were not offered by officials.

A spokesperson for CBP has not yet returned a message seeking further clarity from The Sun.

Reporter Travis Bubenik tweeted that between six or seven people had been hurt in the crash, including the driver.

All injured parties were taken to various area hospitals. Their conditions are not known at this time.
