The stars of Friends have been on a beach getaway together, travelled to Las Vegas and London… but they never ended up going on a cruise.

To make up for that fact, 17 years after Friends aired its final episode, diehard fans have the opportunity to go on a cruise inspired by the hit sitcom. So where is Captain Joey?

Cruise With Friends – Fans At Sea is a themed cruise devised by Fana World Travel, an international luxury travel agency.

The seven-day cruise, which is due to take off in May next year, will welcome 500 guests on board to ‘eat like Joey, joke like Chandler, cook like Monica, shop like Rachel, yoga like Phoebe and dig like Ross’, taking part in activities such as a ‘dress-up as your favourite character’ event and a trivia game.

Departing from Fort Lauderdale in Florida, US, the cruise will stop off at locations including Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, before returning to its original set-off point, it says on the website.

We’re just hoping a Joey impersonator makes an appearance in his unforgettable captain costume to steer the Mr Beamount. Is that too much to ask?

Fana World Travel stresses that Cruise With Friends – Fans At Sea isn’t affiliated with any entertainment company associated with Friends, including NBC, Warner Brothers and Warner Media Studios.

Nonetheless, fans of Friends can still let their imaginations run wild while travelling on the vessel, remembering their favourite moments from the show and living out their US sitcom fantasies… at a price.

To join the cruise, guests must pay $1,000 (£709) per person at reservation and $1,500 (£1,064) at reservation for suites, the website outlines.

Staterooms on the cruise range in price from $1,649.66 (£1,170) per person to $3,048.66 (£2,162), depending on the cabin in question.

While Fana World Travel says that all payments are non-refundable, the firm adds that in the event the cruise is cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, guests will receive a refund. However, if guests cancel their trip, they will not.

Despite Friends ending in 2004, the show remains one of the most popular sitcoms on TV, with fans across the globe recently tuning in to watch the six main stars of the cast reunite in a special programme.

The reunion was full of laughs, heartfelt moments and revelations, including the fact that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer were both attracted to each other in real life while filming the first season.

Friends is available to watch on Netflix.
