Hey there Upper East Siders! The full trailer for the Gossip Girl reboot has hit the internet and boy, does it have people talking.

In the first proper look at what is to come from the HBO Max revival series, the trailer shows the new queen bee welcoming a new student into their friendship group.

However, the drama starts when our new girl appears to be getting a bit too close to queen bee’s boyfriend.

The trailer also teases a threesome, an unplanned kiss, and a pair of characters waking up in bed together – hinting there’s going to be plenty of sexual tension between the show’s new cast.

Yep, looks like we might have love triangles that might just put the Chuck-Blair-Dan and Nate-Serena-Dan entanglements to shame.

Frank Ocean’s Super Rich Kids is the background of the video while the ominous voice of Gossip Girl (Kristen Bell) warns: ‘There’s a big secret amongst the ruling class at Constance Billard.’

However, fans still aren’t sure how to feel about the reboot series as some took to Twitter to share their concerns about the new Gossip Girl format, the storylines, and the fashion.

Some fans weren’t loving the idea of Gossip Girl being switched from a blog to an Instagram account as one wrote: ‘[crying face] gossip girl uses Instagram and the characters are insta celebs and doing live streams it’s just so … ridiculous ..

‘I’m a hardcore OG fan but I knew if they rebooted this they’d do the “insta celeb” route [crying face] so basic.’

Another stated: ‘I know Gossip Girl needed a more modern platform but an Instagram post seems very “meh” like who reads Instagram captions anyway – that’s where all the gossip will be!

‘Though I imagine it’ll be more like IG stories which can also make sense…idk we see how it goes.’

Elsewhere, some viewers felt the new show had taken inspiration from Netflix series, Elite, as one tweeted: ‘It looks like the American version of “Elite”(Netflix)’.

‘Looks like crossover between ELITE and Euphoria’, one fan wrote on YouTube while another commented: ‘okay sooo… an american mix of Elite’s level of maturity and Gossip Girl reboot.’

Another added: ‘HBO’s interpretation of Gossip Girl: Gossip Girl influenced by Elite, influenced by Gossip Girl.’

Other viewers weren’t completely sold on the more modern fashion style as they longed for the looks made famous by the likes of Blair Waldorf.

One Twitter user wrote: ‘I know it’s just a trailer, but i dont see the same level of fashion like the original one :(‘.

But plenty of fans were excited to jump into the new iteration of the Gossip Girl drama as one wrote: ‘That’s what I call the comeback of the century. Welcome back GG!’

Another added: ‘looks promising i will be on the front row when all the s**t goes down!!’

‘‍Whoooo, chile! [Flushed face]This looks MESSY‍ AS HELL‍! ‍I love ‍me ‍some messy b***hes‍!’ another stated.

According to the official description of the reboot, viewers will see how much social media and New York has changed through the eyes of private schoolers.

New cast members include Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey Hope, Thomas Doherty as Max Wolfe, Tavi Gevinson as Kate Keller, Eli Brown as Obie Bergmann IV, and Whitney Peak as Zoya Lott.

Jordan Alexander plays Julien Calloway, Zión Morena as Luna La and Savannah Smith plays Monet de Haan.

Guess we’ll just have to tune in to see what happens with the new kids on the block.
