20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer impressed a lot of fans at the French Open 2021. He managed to reach the fourth round of the tournament and after that, decided to withdraw from the major. He surely got experience of playing some professional matches at Roland Garros and will now utilize it in the upcoming grass-court season.

Roger Federer recently arrived in Germany for the Halle Open 2021. The Swiss maestro seems pretty excited about the tournament and reflected that he is feeling great after arriving there.

“Now it’s the most important time for me. I want to play my best tennis on grass and have success. I am happy, feeling good,” said Federer in a recent interview.

Federer even cut a cake there and stated, “Halle is like coming home.” The organizers of the tournament welcomed him like a king and the former World No.1 player liked it a lot.

Kei Nishikori hits the net with Roger Federer at Halle Open 2021

Former World No.5 Kei Nishikori recently lost to Alexander Zverev in the fourth round of the French Open 2021. Without wasting any time, he has reached Halle for some practice ahead of the upcoming grass-court season. Fortunately, he met Federer there and got the chance to train with him.

“Nice practice with Roger Federer at ATP Halle,” tweeted the Japanese player after the training session.

Roger Federer has had an incredible record at the Halle Open so far. He has won the tournament ten times- the most by any player in the history of the sport. It is because of this reason that the organizers made a ’10’ on the cake that Federer cut. He is also the defending champion there as the tournament didn’t take place last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Federer is definitely targeting the grass-court season this time. He is certainly eyeing to win the Wimbledon Championships 2021 and for that, he needs to perform well at the Halle Open 2021 in order to regain his form and momentum. Will he be able to defend his title in Halle this year?
