The highly-anticipated Sex and the City reboot has added several more confirmed characters to the cast, as familiar faces from the original series reprise their roles.

The Sex and the City revival, titled And Just Like That…, will follow Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) as they continue to navigate the highs and lows of love and friendship in their 50s.

While the new HBO Max series won’t star fan-favourite Samantha Jones (Kim Catrall) amid a supposed feud with her co-star Sarah, the show will feature a number of well-known characters alongside the main cast, including Chris Noth as Carrie’s love interest Big.

Now, even more Sex and the City stars are being added to the mix, including Willie Garson as Carrie’s best friend Stanford Blatch, David Eigenberg as Miranda’s husband Steve Brady, Mario Cantone as Stanford’s husband Anthony Marentino and Evan Handler as Charlotte’s husband, Harry Goldenblatt.

In a statement released by executive producer Michael Patrick King, he expressed how excited he was to see these four actors return.

‘Everyone at And Just Like That… is thrilled to be able to continue the storylines of these beloved Sex and the City characters with the actors who made them so lovable,’ he said.

Willie shared the news on social media, posting a headshot of himself with the caption: ‘And away we go…..#andjustlikethat.’

Mario also celebrated the confirmation on social media, while Evan wrote: ‘This press release is very good news, because otherwise I don’t know why I’m sitting in #NYC, in 90 degree heat, with a man urinating between the trees in front of me.’

Last month, it was announced that Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez had joined the cast of And Just Like That…

Sara, who recently revealed that they identify as non-binary, will play the role of a comedian called Che Diaz.

According to HBO Max, the character is ‘a non-binary, queer, stand-up comedian that hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is regularly featured’, who has ‘a big heart’ and ‘whose outrageous sense of humor and progressive, human overview of gender roles has made them and their podcast very popular’.

It’s rumoured that John Corbett, who played Carrie’s ex-boyfriend Aidan Turner in Sex and the City, may also be returning to the fold.

However, Jason Lewis, who portrayed Samatha’s model boyfriend Smith Jerrod on Sex and the City, will not appear in the sequel show.

And Just Like That will air on HBO Max.
