What Does Michael Jordan Think About Kawhi Leonard?

The NBA is home to a lot of incredible players. LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry are a few names to mention. These players have an incredible appetite for the game of basketball while also having offensive efficiency and defensive output. However, Michael Jordan thinks that Kawhi Leonard is the best player in the NBA right now. The two-time NBA champion is one of the most efficient players in the whole league. Notably, pundits have commented on him being the best two-way player in the league.

The Los Angeles Clippers are trailing the Utah Jazz in their playoff series, but Kawhi truly is a bonafide superstar.

Jordan’s take on Kawhi Leonard

Jordan was full of praise for this talented wingman from San Diego State College. He remarked on how Leonard was “The best two-way player in the game right now.” To receive praise from an amazing player is something. But when you get praise from Michael Jordan, you are doing something remarkable.

Kawhi got drafted in 2011 by the Indiana Pacers, but he got traded to the San Antonio Spurs that night, as Gregg Popovich got a talented player in his hands. With Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili, they created a talented and balanced team that won the NBA championship in 2014. San Antonio won the series against the LeBron-led Miami Heat as Leonard got selected as the NBA Finals MVP.

Likewise, Leonard is a two-time defensive player of the year. The commitment he shows on both sides of the court is commendable. The perfect example of his skill set was on show during the match between the Rockets and the Spurs. As the clock was winding down in the fourth quarter, Houston had a slight advantage. But Kawhi raised his game and showed us why he is the best two-way player. To sum up, we will remember this play for years to come.

Another chapter with the Toronto Raptors

After his success with the San Antonio Spurs, Leonard left for the Toronto Raptors where he got hold of his second NBA championship. He became the third player to win a finals MVP with two teams, joining LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Despite having injury troubles before he joined Toronto, this will single-handedly be the most successful one-year deal by a franchise in the NBA. There were also some memorable moments during his time with the Raptors.

During game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers, Leonard hit an unbelievable buzzer-beater to knock Embiid and the 76ers out of the playoffs. Another glorious moment in his illustrious career.

He came, he conquered, and he left.

Players like Leonard are generational talent. To be successful on both sides of the court takes hard work and commitment through the roof. Michael Jordan might have a case in revealing his best player in the NBA.

Leonard can claim his third NBA title with the Los Angeles Clippers, although Utah is leading the series. But there is no doubt of the legacy left by Kawhi as he will go down as one of the best players in the league’s history.
