In what was an incredible game at Salt Lake City where the Utah Jazz defeated the Los Angeles Clippers to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Donovan Mitchell was the star man yet again as he scored 37 points in the game. Notably, Rudy Gobert was given a rousing ovation by the fans at the beginning of the game.

The Los Angeles Clippers will take on the Jazz in the Staples Center in game 3 as they look to not fall down in the series. Besides this exciting game upcoming, Donovan Mitchell is on the verge of creating history. He is in contention to step above LeBron for the highest points per game in playoffs history. The 24-year-old has been magnificent this season as he continues to prove the doubters wrong.

Donovan Mitchell is an All-star

Although Gobert marshalls the defense very well, Mitchell comes up with the goods on the offensive side of the game.

Jordan leads the pack of the highest ppg in the playoffs with 33.4 points while Mitchell has just started his career. Passing LeBron James will be a huge achievement considering the elite company he is with. James had a disappointing playoff series this time around; meanwhile, the Utah Jazz has been steamrolling past opponents. The balance in their squad is evident for people to see.

The Utah Jazz is set for a deep playoff run

Despite Mitchell gaining all the plaudits, the Jazz has built an able support cast around him. Gobert is a solid interior defender, while players like Ingles and Bogdanovic hurt the opposition with their accurate shooting. The Sixth Man of the Year, Jordan Clarkson, came in and scored points to take the Jazz home as he scored 24 points in what was a shooting clinic.

But Donovan was the star of the show. The deep threes and the drives to the rim were present during his masterclass of a performance. The young player looks determined to win an NBA title this season. The Jazz finished the regular season by finishing at the top in the Western Conference as they look to advance to the next round.

 

The Los Angeles Clippers have their work cut out in the next two games. Even though they made a late surge at the end, the Utah Jazz’s bench proved to be the difference. With Utah’s secondary scorers producing when it matters, the Clippers need to sort themselves out. Otherwise, Mitchell and the Jazz will go for a clean sweep.
