Rebel Wilson has opened up further about her ‘year of health’ which saw her lose 30kg as she had a complete lifestyle overhaul to get fit.

The actor took the step to visit a ‘wellness retreat’ last year as she began thinking about her fertility, deciding to freeze her eggs.

After speaking to a doctor she was advised to get healthier to ‘make the process go better’ and credited walking with helping her transformation.

‘I get a little emotional when I ask myself why I didn’t care about my health before this. It just wasn’t a priority, and I didn’t know how to do it right,’ she said in an interview with Shape.

Turning to her Austrian health retreat she revealed: ‘While there I learned that moderate — not even fast paced — walking is the best way for me to lose unnecessary body fat.’

Rebel, 41, added that her new look has had a positive effect on her from the inside out, saying: ‘I don’t want to sound superficial, and looks aren’t everything, but I think I’m getting better looking with age.’

Rebel took a look at her overall health over the past year in the hope of having a baby.

She said of her decision: ‘As all good career women out there should know, if that’s something that interests you, it’s a pretty good time to do it.

‘Getting to 40s is kind of even leaving it a little too late. It’s better to do it a bit earlier if you can.’

She went on: ‘I was thinking about fertility and having good quality eggs in the bank, so I was like, “okay, I’m going to do this, I’m going to get healthy”.’

However the star, who battles polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), recently hinted at a setback in her journey but remained hopeful.

‘To all the women out there struggling with fertility, I feel ya,’ she said on Instagram.

‘The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn’t make sense…but I hope there’s light about to shine through all the dark clouds. (sic).’
