Disney bosses give Enniskerry village magical makeover for Enchanted sequel
Filming is set to begin in Ireland for Disney’s upcoming Disenchanted movie, with the crew sprucing up the stunning Enniskerry village.
The film – a sequel to 2007 flick Enchanted – boasts a star-studded cast, including Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden and Maya Rudolph.
Production staff were spotted in County Wicklow, putting the finishing touches to parts of the already-stunning village, to give it an extra Disney touch.
Crew members were seen adding extra flowers to the picturesque landscape, and moving props around, ready for the cameras.
It was announced that Enchanted was getting the sequel treatment at the end of last year, more than a decade after the original film graced the big screen.
It is currently set to be dropped on Disney Plus, and slated for a 2022 release date.
Amy, James, Patrick and Idina Menzel are set to reprise their roles as Giselle, Prince Edward, Robert and Nancy for the new adventure.
According to Deadline, the movie will see Maya, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays popping up – and will be turning evil for the action.
Count us in.
The original movie starred Amy as cartoon princess Giselle, who is thrown into the real world, away from her ‘true love’, Prince Edward (James).
However, as she spends more time in New York, and love interest Robert (Patrick), she realises that she belongs in the real world.
It grossed more than $330million (£237million) worldwide at the box office, and even racked up three Oscar nominations at the Academy Awards.
Disney’s Disenchanted is slated for a 2022 release.
