WATCH: Former NBA Star Lamar Odom Beats Down Aaron Carter in a Celebrity Boxing Match
Former NBA player Lamar Odom showed out in full force against American rapper and songwriter Aaron Carter in their celebrity boxing match. The 6’10’’ former power forward completely beat down Carter from pillar to post and the bout wasn’t competitive. The height discrepancy coupled with the strength disadvantage turned out to be disastrous for Aaron Carter as the bout played out.
While it wasn’t the most technically sound affair for boxing aficionados, the spectacle certainly delivered from an entertainment standpoint. The end came at 0:57 of the second round via TKO.

Former UFC champion Chuck Liddell was the referee for the contest and had no choice but to jump in and stop the fight.

Liddell briefly stopped the action midway through the contest to make sure that Aaron Carter was in a position to scrap. He was being battered around the ring by the much larger man who came forth with continuous pressure. However, once Lamar Odom turned on the intensity after the restart, it was clear that the writing was on the wall.

The news of Odom vs Carter may have slid by the notice of hardcore fight fans, however, there’s certainly nothing to be surprised about. Crossover celebrity exhibition bouts have become a mainstay in the sport as of late. YouTubers turned boxers, Logan Paul and Jake Paul are undoubtedly the duo to thank for such an occurrence.
What’s more, there’s a lot of money attached to such events as was displayed through Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul on Sunday night. Regardless of how the bout shapes up on paper, there’s always a market to promote showcase fights. In fact, mainstream fighters like Francis Ngannou, who have dedicated their lives to the craft, want to know why the big bucks aren’t coming their way.

Combat sports fans can buckle in as the trend of celebrity showcase match-ups are here to stay. It remains to be seen how long this climate for such feature bouts will last. However, as it stands, such fights don’t seem to be going anywhere.
