WATCH: Lando Norris Takes a Sarcastic Dig at Max Verstappen’s Post Baku F1 Crash Antics

Lando Norris and Twitch go hand in hand. With over 900,000 followers on the streaming platform, the Briton is one of the most active F1 drivers on Twitch.

At the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, championship leader Max Verstappen suffered a heavy crash towards the end of Lap 47. His first DNF of the season left him disappointed, despite staying ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the driver’s championship.

Norris appeared on Twitch recently, where he replayed that crash in Baku. He gave his reactions to it, which included sarcasm and revealing what could have made it worse.

Lando Norris reveals how Max Verstappen could have made the crash worse

Although Max Verstappen led in Baku for over 25 laps, his Azerbaijan Grand Prix ended in disaster. The Dutchman’s left rear tire got a puncture, which sent him spinning into the barriers on the final straight.

Although Norris was far behind at this point, one driver who wasn’t was eventual race winner Sergio Perez. On re-watching the incident, Norris appreciated the Mexican’s reactions to move past the debris and keep going. “I like how Sergio just keeps on going,” said Norris.

The Briton also saved his sarcastic jibes for Verstappen, after he threw his steering wheel in frustration. “Oh, that’s not pricey,” said the 21-year-old.

Norris believes Verstappen’s crash could have been worse had he crashed into the barriers on the opposite side. He said, “Oh, my God! Do you know what would have been worse? If you went here. (points to the left side of the final straight)

“Like, if he just corrected, and he went there, that would have been, boom!”

Can Norris continue his good run of form in Le Castellet?

Norris remains the only driver to score points in all six races this season. Considering this is only his third season in F1, this statistic depicts his remarkable consistency for McLaren.

Although F1 returns to Le Castellet after a two-year hiatus, Norris fared decently in his debut French Grand Prix back in 2019. The Briton finished P9, while his former teammate Carlos Sainz finished P6 that year.

With the battle for 3rd place in the constructor’s championship intensifying between McLaren and Ferrari, Norris will look to improve on that P9 finish two years ago. Can the 21-year-old bring more points to the Woking-based outfit on June 20?
