With the doubles title, Krejcikova won her seventh Grand Slam title. She is now a three times doubles Grand Slam champion along and a three-time mixed doubles Grand Slam champion. Records broken by Barbora Krejcikova at French Open 2021

Serena Williams, Venus Williams, and Samantha Stosur are the other active players to have Grand Slams in singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. However, Krejcikova has achieved something grander than the above four. She has now won the singles Grand Slam, doubles Grand Slam, and mixed doubles Grand Slam in the same year. Earlier, Krejcikova had won the Australian Open 2021 mixed doubles title.

Moreover, Krejcikova is the first woman since 2000 to complete a double at Roland Garros. The last woman to do it was Mary Pierce. In the Open-Era only seven women have achieved this feat, and Krejcikova joins the company of elites such as Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, and Martina Navratilova.

French Open 2021 doubles final

Krejcikova and Siniakova started off very well in the match. In less than 15 minutes they earned two breaks to take a lead of 4-0 in the opening set. Krejcikova and Siniakova were, however, broken by Swiatek and Mattek Sands while serving for the set. However, they would complete the set the second time, 6-4.

Swiatek and Mattek Sands looked better in the second set. Although they were broken early, they broke back in the next game to level the set, 2-2. But from here Krejcikova and Siniakova took charge and raced in the set. In the next 20 points, they would win 16 of them to seal the second set, 6-2, and take the title in 1 hour and 14 minutes.
