The remaining SAS: Who Dares Wins recruits were reduced to tears during a brutal interrogation task in Sunday’s finale, which pushed them further than any other challenge in the series.

It came after the contestants first faced an extraction task, which tested their endurance and leadership qualities, as well as their ability to perform under pressure.

Both groups of the remaining recruits were captured before reaching their destinations. After being escorted back to base, they were told not to break their cover story under heavy questioning.

The interrogations were led by ‘The Umpire’, whose identity had to remain undisclosed for security reasons.

It saw him employ techniques not permitted for use by the British military, in order to prepare recruits for extreme treatment at the hands of their enemies.

First up, the recruits were stripped of their wet clothes. They were then held in against the wall and subjected to a series of screams and other distressing sounds.

Recruit number three, Justine, was brought to tears during the task, meaning she didn’t complete the challenge.

‘I can’t do anymore,’ she said, before sharing an embrace with instructor Ant Middleton.

‘You’re 18-years-old and I can’t believe how far you’ve come. You are absolutely amazing,’ he said.

Next, the remaining recruits were drenched in freezing water and locked in dog cages. Tyler was then screamed at in distressing scenes, with the interrogator’s face just inches from her own.

Sean and DJ withdrew in quick succession, meaning four recruits remained. Adam then cracked under pressure and broke his cover story.

After being screamed at by the interrogators, Connor and Tyla also broke their cover story. However, they were all told they had successfully passed the phase.

In the end, only a total of two recruits managed to complete the tasks, with Connor and Keiran successfully completing the course.
