Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, Aslan Karatsev, and Others to Achieve Career-High Ranking Following French Open 2021 Success

If there’s an ATP player who had an incredible record in the first-half of 2021, it has to be Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek player, who won two titles(Monte-Carlo and Lyon) so far, had also reached the semi-finals of Australian Open earlier this year, where he lost to Daniil Medvedev.

Tsitsipas proved that he can match the likes of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic on the red dirt when he won the Monte-Carlo Masters, and also reached the finals of Barcelona Open(lost to Nadal).

Stefanos Tsitsipas will be ranked a career-high no.4 in ATP Singles Rankings

Even though the Greek fell short of Djokovic in the French Open, he will have a positive mindset ahead of Wimbledon Championships as he will be seeded fourth in the ATP men’s singles rankings.

Dominic Thiem held the fourth seed since the start of the year. Due to his shock upset on the Parisian clay this year against Pablo Andujar, the Austrian will be moved down to the fifth position.

As usual, the first three positions will be held by Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, and Rafael Nadal. In addition to the Greek, players like Casper Ruud and Aslan Karatsev will also have a jump in their rankings.

Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud, who won the Geneva Open, also had a great run on the European clay court season this year. He reached the semi-finals of Monte-Carlo Masters, Munich Open, and Rome Masters.

Aslan Karatsev and Lorenzo Musetti also benefitted from their performances at French Open 2021

But, the youngster lost to Davidovich Fokina in the third-round of French Open. Due to consistent performances, Ruud will reach a career high of 15th in men’s rankings to be released on Monday.

The surprising rise of Russian talent Aslan Karatsev has been one of the inspiring stories this year on the ATP tour. Karatsev displayed his talent on the ATP Cup and followed it up with a semi-final run at the Australian Open. The Russian also won ATP Dubai title, and defeated Novak Djokovic in his route to finals at the Serbia Open.

Even though Karatsev didn’t perform to his expectations in the men’s singles draw at Roland Garros, he was the runner-up in the mixed doubles section partnered by Elena Vesnina. Karatsev will move from 26th to 24th seed in the updated ATP rankings.

Along with Karatsev, young Spanish star Davidovich Fokina will make his top-40 debut after reaching the quarter-finals on the Parisian clay. On the other hand, Lorenzo Musetti, who almost stunned Djokovic at the French Open, will move 15 ranking spots ahead to number 61.

The 2021 French Open witnessed a lot of upcoming talents who showed immense courage and mettle playing at the big stage as they are rewarded in the singles rankings.
