Travis Kelce names the side he believes will go ‘neck & neck’ with Kansas City Chiefs for AFC title

The Kansas City Chiefs have become one of the most dominant forces in the AFC over the past couple of seasons. And a lot of their success can be credited to the meteoric rise of offensive trio Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce.

The three have become regular Pro Bowl features and have been breaking records for fun. Kelce last season broke the all-time NFL record for most receiving yards accumulated by a tight end over the course of a season.

Kelce, the oldest among the trio has not missed a Pro Bowl call up since 2014. Earning his third All-Pro honor last season thanks to his 1,416-yard season, the tight end is building up quite a resume.

A near-guaranteed future Hall of Famer, Kelce still has a few good years left in him to add to his impressive list of accolades. Winning more Super Bowl rings with the Chiefs remains the main aim.

But the tight end though said that there’s one team that he and his team will have to weary of if they wish to achieve that goal.

Travis Kelce believes the Cleveland Browns have caught up

Born and raised in Cleveland, Kelce has a special connection with the city in Ohio. And now he believes the franchise based out of his hometown is going to be one he’ll have to suit up against a lot more often in the years to come.

“They’re definitely a contender, without a doubt,” Kelce said while talking to the Akron Beacon Journal.

“It’s definitely there. Baker Mayfield and the gang have upped the ante. They’ve made this team an unbelievable team and a team you have to prepare for and take serious. I think that moving forward without a doubt, I can see a lot more playoff games between us,” he added.

The Cleveland Browns have had it rough for long. But it looks the NFL’s biggest disappointment is finally turning things around. With other teams starting to take notice after their playoff run last season, the Chiefs tight end believes that the two teams are now very much at the same level.

“I’ll just take it one day at a time and hope for it. I think the Browns and Chiefs are definitely neck and neck.”

The Browns’ first playoff run in years ended at the hands of the Chiefs last season. With the two sides set to kick off their new campaigns facing one another, payback will surely be on the mind of the Browns.
