‘Why not?’ – Cleveland Browns wide out Jarvis landry fuels fans’ dreams of maiden Super Bowl

The Cleveland Browns are dreaming again. After years of being the proverbial laughing stock among the NFL community, the franchise is now on the rise.  

Making their first playoff appearance in nearly two decades, the side stunned everyone by beating division rivals Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round.  

And after narrowly missing out on the opportunity to pull off a stunning upset against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round, the Browns are no longer the same old Browns. 

With an inspiring young Head Coach in Kevin Stefanski and a roster eager to leave a mark, the Cleveland Browns are now being touted as dark horses for next season’s Super Bowl. 

While fans are hopeful about their chances for 2021, the players too seem to be in on the wave of optimism that has swept the city of Cleveland.  

Cleveland Browns can afford to dream of a Super Bowl 

During a celebrity softball game arranged by Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry at Classic Park, crowds flocked in thousands to see some of their favorite superstars in action.  

And talking to the Akron Beacon Journal, the wide receiver said that fans have every reason to be talking about a potential Super Bowl appearance in 2021.

“Why not?” Landry said. “It’s something that people always say you should not talk about. But nobody trains or nobody does what they do to not be a champion. So that’s the standard.”

Landry has been a part of the Cleveland based organization since 2018. Since being traded from the Miami Dolphins, the wideout has earned two Pro Bowl call ups. 

Alongside the likes of Odell Beckham Jr, Nick Chubb, and Baker Mayfield to name a few, the Cleveland offense has played a major role in the side’s recent success. 

Falling one step short of making the Conference Championship game, Landry feels the Browns can do even better in 2021.

“Why not talk about it? It’s real. It’s sick to be humble about what everybody is actually chasing.”

The Browns have made several quality additions over the course of the offseason to add to what already is an impressive roster. And with all key players retained for next season, the Browns will be looking to silence the remaining doubters.
