“Favorite Video Ever”: Lewis Hamilton Reveals His Love for Iconic Ayrton Senna Onboard

Lewis Hamilton recently sat down with former F1 driver Martin Brundle, where the two watched a collection of clips depicting the history of Formula One. Among them, they watch a clip of the late great Ayrton Senna at Monaco. That particular clip is already well-known because it displayed Senna’s skill on the streets of the Principality.

Watching the clip Hamilton admitted, “This is one of my favorite bits of footage. It’s like literally my favorite video ever. This car was so good, I’ve driven this car. You can see he had to hesitate there [at Tabac] for a second. The traffic is crazy.”

It is no secret that Lewis Hamilton greatly admires Ayrton Senna. According to the 7-time world champion, he was a big fan of Senna’s style of racing and admires the passion the Brazilian legend had for F1 and his various victories. Finally, he touched upon how Senna had had to take on a system that wasn’t always kind to him.

Lewis Hamilton is hoping to get his season back on track

After a strong start to his season, Hamilton faltered in the last two races at Monaco and Azerbaijan. At the Principality, Hamilton could only muster 7th in qualifying due to an ill-timed red flag. In the race itself, he could barely make any progress up the order and Max Verstappen clawed his way to lead the championship.

At Azerbaijan, Verstappen crashed out and practically handed Hamilton an invitation to take the lead back. However, when the Briton accidentally hit his ‘magic’ button, he went off the track on the first corner. As a result, the status quo remained and Verstappen still leads the driver’s championship.

Meanwhile, Red Bull lead the constructor’s championship ahead of arch-rivals Mercedes. Naturally, Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes will want their respective championship leads back at the French Grand Prix.
