Perez Explains Why He Considers ‘Myself Lucky’ to Have Verstappen as Red Bull F1 Teammate

Max Verstappen is undoubtedly one of the greatest drivers of his generation, extremely hardworking and determined. In his first season alongside him, Sergio Perez states that Verstappen doesn’t have any days off.

The Dutch driver has always pushed himself and his rivals to the limit. Hence, his work ethic has placed him on top of the driver’s standings with his arch-rival, Lewis Hamilton, behind him in second place.

Sergio Perez thinks that Max Verstappen has no rest days

As quoted from FormulaPassion.it, Perez said, “Max is at 110% from the first lap of FP1 on Friday until the last in the race on Sunday. Other riders allow themselves a few ‘days off’, he doesn’t, he always expresses a very high level. I consider myself lucky to have him as a point of reference ” (Quotes translated from Italian using Google)

The two Red Bull drivers have brought their A-Game to the 2021 season, their results on track have given the Milton-Keynes-based outfit the lead in the championship, building a 26 point gap to rivals Mercedes.

How are Perez and Max doing this season?

In their first season as teammates, both Perez and Verstappen have worked together in harmony, giving maximum points to their team. Verstappen won two out of the six races till now, one at the Emilia GP and the other at Monaco.

While Perez picked up a win at the “Land of Fire” when Max failed to do so as he crashed due to tire failure. Now the two Red Bull drives await for the French GP at Paul Ricard and will hope to create a bigger difference in terms of points with their rivals from Brackley.

The Milton-Keynes haven’t led the title race ever since the Mercedes became the most dominating team on the grid. Hence, they are more than determined to keep the lead as the season progresses to claim the constructor’s title.
