Suns’ Chris Paul Leaps Over LeBron James in Age-Old Record After Reaching WCF

When the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns were pitted against each other in Game 4, nobody imagined the Nuggets crumbling down the way they did. Losing 4-0 in the Semifinals must be devastating for the MVP of the season but with Chris Paul and Devin Booker on one side, anything is possible. Despite Chris just making his return from injury is at the top of his game. In fact, he has added his name to a great achievement, that too next to LeBron James.

Chris Paul continues to wreak havoc at this age

It was a decade ago when we saw the Phoenix Suns in the playoffs. And much like last time, we will be witnessing them in the Conference Finals. Although they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2010 WCF, this might be very different. Why is that? They have one of the best duos in the league right now.

With Chris Paul’s addition, the Suns’ chances at a title have really skyrocketed. From being completely irrelevant, they are now the biggest threats to all the teams fighting for the title. However, to those who say that only Paul is making the Suns capable, his absence due to injury didn’t seem to waiver the Suns either and held the fort.

There is no doubt that Paul’s veteran leadership makes any team he’s a part of brilliant. And with each passing game, he makes the case for being the best point guard in the league, stronger.

After finishing Game 4 with a whopping 37 points, Paul became the older player to record 35+ points on 70% shooting in the postseason for the first time since 1965. Hence, joining his dear friend LeBron James in this incredible feat as well.

Are Phoenix Suns synonymous with destruction?

Destroying a team as good as the Denver Nuggets in straight four games is no cakewalk. It took both Booker and Chris to go the extra mile and scoring more than 70+ points together to seal this game’s victory alone.

The Nuggets’ biggest disadvantage was Nikola Jokic being the sole high scorer on the team. The lone hero was no match to Devin Booker and CP3’s partnership. And when he was ejected after his flagrant foul on Cameron Payne, the Nuggets’ fate was inevitable.

The Suns will now be preparing to either face the LA Clippers or Utah Jazz. The Jazz are currently leading the series 2-1 and are the favorites to go against the Suns. The Suns vs Jazz matchup is the most awaited one this season but the question is if the Suns can channel the same aggression against the top-seeded team or not.
