“With the Same Attitude”: Resilient Stefanos Tsitsipas Believes in Winning a Grand Slam “Very Soon”
Greek’s best tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas put on a great show at the French Open 2021 finals. Although he squandered a two-set lead, he left no room for questions regarding his capabilities. In the end, the 22-year-old lost his maiden Grand Slam final 6-7(6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
In the post-match ceremony, the eventual winner Novak Djokovic told Tsitsipas that the youngster would win many Grand Slams in the future. In this regard, the Greek does not doubt himself either.

Stefanos Tsitsipas confident of winning a Grand Slam soon
From Game 1, Tsitsipas played the final as a winner; however, he got lost as Djokovic geared up. No doubt, losing a major final after having an immaculate clay season would be tough to digest. But the defeat does not hamper the passion and self-belief the Greek carries within him.
“I believe, yes, I am able to play for titles like this,” Tsitsipas said. “Despite my loss today, I have faith in my game, and I very much believe I can get to that point very soon.”
Moreover, the new World No. 4 stated that every opponent is a challenge in such tournaments. But he did realize how close he was to realizing his childhood dream. “I was close today, and every opponent is difficult. There’s a small difference between the player I played today and the ones before,” he added.
In terms of improvements, Tsitsipas is looking forward to maintaining his approach. Plus, he is confident that his path has him holding a Slam one day.
” I think with the same attitude, and if I don’t downgrade myself,” Tsitsipas said. “I see no reason for me not to be holding a trophy one day.”

Later on, Tsitsipas shared on social media that he received the unfortunate news about his grandmother five minutes before the final, and it definitely changed the outlook of the match.
Tsitsipas’s incredible 2021 clay season
The Greek started his clay-court swing on the highest note possible, winning the Monte-Carlo Masters. He defeated Andrey Rublev 6-3, 6-3 in the final.
Following that, Tsitsipas reached the Barcelona Open final, where he lost to Rafael Nadal. In Madrid and Italy, he lost in the round of 16 and quarterfinals, respectively.
As the last tune-up tournament before Paris, Tsitsipas also picked up the title in Lyon. At present, he also has the most ATP wins this season.
