‘It’s Going To Be Complicated’ – Former Packers Player Hints at Change in Stance Regarding Aaron Rodgers’ Future

The Green Bay Packers seem to have no intentions of putting an end to the ongoing trade saga involving Aaron Rodgers. The quarterback who reportedly wants out hasn’t publicly stated his desire, yet his actions suggest that could well be the case.

First missing OTAs and then mandatory minicamp, the quarterback is holding out. And while Aaron Rodgers has been keeping out of the public eye, the same can’t be said about the Packers front office.

Packers CEO Mark Murphy has made two very questionable remarks regarding their star quarterback. After first saying that Rodgers has divided their fanbase, Murphy quoted former GM Ted Thompson to call Aaron Rodgers a “complicated fella.”

Dousing gasoline into the fire, the Packers are clearly doing themselves no favors. Former Green Bay Packers player James Jones has been following the developments closely. And while he earlier called the situation fixable, he thinks right not things can get a little complicated.

Packers can still work it out with Aaron Rodgers

Appearing on NFL Total Access, Jones weighed in on the matter at hand. While things are getting complicated, Jones hinted that there are reasons to believe something can still be salvaged.

“Pump your breaks. Just relax,” Jones said“Listen, I have a very good relationship with Mark Murphy. Mark Murphy has a very good relationship with all of his players.”

Murphy, who claims to be close to Rodgers as well said that while Rodgers isn’t a complicated individual, working things out with him at this point is bound to hit some stumbling blocks.

“If you have a relationship with Aaron Rodgers, no, he’s not a complicated fella… You are talking about the future of a Hall of Fame quarterback’s career. Yeah, it’s going to be complicated. He wants some things. You want some things. So it’s going to be complicated,” he said.

Jones further asked everyone not to read into Murphy’s comments too much and said that the Packers for now must focus on fixing the relationship with their star quarterback.

“Listening to Mark Murphy talk, I am not reading into it too much. I’m pumping my brakes. I am relaxing. Don’t read too much into it… When you have a relationship with (Rodgers), no, it is not complicated. So get together, get a relationship with Aaron Rodgers like I have one, and get together and get it fixed.”

Jones might ask us fans to not read into Murphy’s comments much but we doubt how much of that advice Aaron Rodgers might listen to himself. After all, being called out in this fashion is not likely something the QB will brush off that easy.
