Ashley Cain has blanket made with daughter Azaylia’s face on it ‘so she can look at the sky all day’
Ashley Cain has had his daughter Azaylia’s face printed on a blanket so she can ‘look at the beautiful sky’.
Azaylia died of a rare form of leukaemia at eight-months-old in April with her funeral taking place in May.
The Ex on the Beach star and girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee have been sharing their struggles with grief on social media as well as tributes to their daughter, with family members getting her name tattooed on their wrists.
He recently revealed the photo he chose to put on a blanket after Safiyya noticed he made the bed ‘every day without fail’ since Azaylia died.
So he decided to put a picture of his daughter on a bed cover so he can see her every day.
Ashley, 30, said on Instagram: ‘I’ve never been someone to make the bed, I always left it messy.
‘This morning Saf told me that she was speaking to someone and told them that since Azaylia went to heaven, I’ve made the bed everyday without fail.
‘This is the reason why…we have a south facing garden which shines light though the bedroom window.
‘So I make the bed and open the blinds so Azaylia can look at the beautiful sky all day.’
Azaylia was laid to rest in Nuneaton, and the grieving father gave an emotional speech at the funeral.
Breaking down, Ashley said his little girl had ‘changed’ and ‘saved’ his life.

‘Beautiful, strong, courageous and so, so inspirational. I don’t think that a single person in this room can say they are too wise, too educated or experienced to have learned something from my likkle lion.
‘From the second she came into my life everything changed. She changed my life, she saved my life and she made my life.’
He recently had to reassure fans on social media that he would not take his own life after speaking only about his grief, vowing to stay strong for his child.
Ashley and Safiyya meanwhile are in a good place, with Safiyya saying in an Instagram Q&A that their relationship is strong.
‘We are dealing with so much right now, but we always got each other,’ she told followers.
