‘I Don’t Believe Usyk Is a Heavyweight’ – Tyson Fury Has a Surprise Prediction for Anthony Joshua vs. Oleksandr Usyk
Things in the heavyweight division have changed drastically with the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury trilogy. As a result of the ruling, Anthony Joshua has to face his WBO mandatory, Oleksandr Usyk. And now, Tyson Fury has given a surprising take on the bout.
Reports suggest that a deal between Joshua and Usyk is already in place for September 25 at the famous Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. While many have billed this as a close fight between two contrasting styles, Fury has had his say on the contest.

The 30-0-1 boxer spoke to SecondsOut on YouTube after the press conference for his own fight. When asked about the possibility of Usyk beating Joshua, Fury said, “I don’t believe Usyk is a heavyweight for one. I just think he’s a pumped-up cruiserweight who struggles against heavyweights.”
“In my opinion, Derek Chisora beat Oleksandr Usyk, and he struggled with Derek Chisora. And Joshua is a much bigger, stronger man than Derek. And I think he walks right through Usyk, to be fair.”
However, this comment from Fury will surprise fans as a few days ago, ‘The Gypsy King’ predicted Usyk would cause problems for AJ and that he handled Chisora. Therefore, fans will accuse Fury of being contradictory.

Tyson Fury says Oleksandr Usyk could not even knockout cruiserweights
Usyk’s move to heavyweight came after he had cleaned out the cruiserweight division and become an undisputed champion. However, this does not impress Fury. ‘The Gypsy King’ questioned the Ukrainian’s power and said he could not even knock out the cruiserweights.
Fury said, “He didn’t have the power to halt cruiserweights… Mairis Briedis and whoever else he’s fought. So, he ain’t halting big AJ. 260 pounds of pure muscle and 6-foot-6, how’s he going to keep him off? He couldn’t hurt Derek Chisora [when] he hit him [Chisora] with his best shots on the chin.”

Thus, based on Fury’s comments, it is clear he feels Joshua’s power and size will be the defining factor. However, fans will take these comments with a pinch of salt given the champion’s previous comments on the matter.
What do you make of these comments from Tyson Fury? Do you think Anthony Joshua’s size will be too much for Oleksandr Usyk?
