‘It’s Conor McGregor’s Final Roll of the Dice’- Tyson Fury Predicts UFC 264 Main Event
Boxing champion Tyson Fury sat down with Michael Bisping from BT Sport and went over his upcoming bout. Fury takes on Deontay Wilder for a third time to round out July in a blockbuster heavyweight title fight. While candidly speaking about ‘The Bronze Bomber’, Tyson Fury also commented on a massive UFC fight set in July.
Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier to close out their trilogy on July 10 and the world will be watching. Bisping asked Fury to share his prediction for the bout and ‘The Gypsy King’ sided with his European counterpart. Furthermore, Fury also went in on the fact that the aforementioned bout was a crossroads fight for McGregor.
“It’s Conor McGregor’s final roll of the dice. If he loses this It’s curtains isn’t it. I think he wins this fight, I think he wins it in style to be fair. With Connie, you never know what he’s been doing. You never know what he’s been upto in training camps and all that. From what I hear, he lives like a rockstar while he’s like a week away from his fight.”
“You can’t do that. Like when I’m in a training camp, I’m 100% dedicated to the fight like I don’t do anything, I go to bed early, I wake up early. I don’t drink anything but water. It’s like I dedicate 100% to the job at hand but if I was going out and getting smashed the night before my fights, then I’m asking to lose.”
UFC 264: Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor
Dustin ‘The Diamond’ comes into the trilogy fight with all the momentum on his side, having TKO’ed McGregor in July. Conor McGregor had never been stopped via strikes in his career and fans want to see how he bounces back. Chiefly, the high-stakes nature of the contest means that McGregor and his team will probably put their best foot forward.
The winner of the contest is looking at a probable title shot as well as bragging right for having sealed the trilogy. It’s back to the drawing board for the loser who will need to build themselves back up to a title shot.
What’s more, some might argue that the stakes are even higher for McGregor given that he’s not won a fight at lightweight since 2016. It all goes down in front of a capacity arena on July 10 at UFC 264.
