‘There Are 600+ UFC Fighters’- Israel Adesanya Lauds Africans Francis Ngannou and Kamaru Usman for Total Domination

The present era of UFC has been great for fighters from all over the world. And the biggest proof of it is that there are currently 3 African champions in the UFC. Francis Ngannou is the UFC Heavyweight champion, Israel Adesanya is the middleweight champion while Kamaru Usman is the welterweight champion.

These three fighters have led the way for the rise of African fighters all over the MMA world. Recently Israel Adesanya defended his middleweight title for the 3rd time at UFC 263. Following his victory, Adesanya took to Twitter to talk about how honored he is of the accomplishments of all 3 of the African- born champions.

Adesanya wrote, “An era in the history of sports that will never be forgotten. I am honored to be part of this trio in mixed martial arts. There are 600+ active UFC fighters. Less than 30 of us are Africans. Yet 3 of us are Champions. More than AMAZING!!. The new #blackmurderersrow.”

The stats shared by ‘The Last Stylebender’ clearly show how special it is that three African-born fighters are champions at the same time. The three fighters have often been supporting each other and both Usman and ‘The Predator’ congratulated Adesanya following his victory.

Seeing these magnificent fighters acknowledge and respect each other and their heritage is truly great.

Israel Adesanya, Kamaru Usman and Francis Ngannou’s Rise to the Top

The Nigerian Nightmare’ was the first amongst the three to become a UFC champion. Usman defeated Tyron Woodley at the UFC 235 event via unanimous decision to win the title. Following that win, Usman has to date successfully defended his title 4 times.

‘The Last Stylebender’ became the interim UFC middleweight champion at the UFC 236 event. Following that Adesanya defeated Robert Whittaker to win and unify the middleweight title at UFC 243.

Francis Ngannou was the most recent African-born fighter to become UFC champion. ‘The Predator’ defeated Stipe Miocic at the UFC 260 event to win the UFC Heavyweight title.

Following Ngannou’s victory, both Adesanya and Usman congratulated the fighter. Usman was even present at the UFC 260 event to support his fellow fighter.

The three have always shown immense respect towards each other. And this latest tweet by Adesanya was just another testament to that fact.
