Val Kilmer becomes the first actual Batman to address the Catwoman oral sex saga with a Nicole Kidman throwback
Val Kilmer is the first person who has actually starred as Batman to finally address the ongoing drama surrounding the caped crusader and his aversion to oral sex.
In news which has shaken Gotham locals and actual living people, creators and executive producers Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker behind the HBO Max animated series Harley Quinn axed a scene which saw Batman going down on Catwoman.
‘DC was like, “You can’t do that. You absolutely cannot do that,”’ Halpern told Variety. ‘They’re like, “Heroes don’t do that.”’
He added: ‘So, we said, “Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?” They were like, “No, it’s that we sell consumer toys for heroes. It’s hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone.”’
Naturally, Harley Quinn star Kaley Cuoco found the whole thing hilarious because that is exactly what it is.
And Kilman – who starred in the grossly underrated 1995 film Batman Forever alongside Nicole Kidman – has now thrown his gifable reaction into the mix, sharing a scene from his Batman masterpiece.
Alongside a video of Dr Chase Meridian (played by Kidman) strolling towards Batman (Kilmer), saying: ‘We could try. I’ll bring the wine,’ Kilmer captioned the post: ‘Does he or doesn’t he…’
Actually Kilmer, he doesn’t and with those razor sharp ears it’s probably for the best.
Variety went on to issue the following disclaimer on the matter: ‘In fairness to DC, both Halpern and [co-creator Patrick] Schumacker went on to say that the company has been remarkably supportive of their series and has allowed them to push the envelope numerous times.’
‘Still, it remains to be seen if Batman and Catwoman will be shown engaging in some bedroom antics in season three or if it will simply be implied via cunning linguistics.’
Harley Quinn is available to stream on HBO Max in the US and airs on E4 in the UK.
