Eamonn Holmes latest star to flog personalised videos to fans on Cameo – but it’ll cost you
Eamonn Holmes has become the latest in a long line of celebrities to share their faces in fan-tailored videos on Cameo.
The This Morning star is a soundbite for hire and while it will cost you, his foray into the world of Cameo is all in the name of charity. And a charity for dogs.
If that doesn’t have you dialing up Eamonn for a message we really don’t know what will you heartless being.
It was revealed this week Eamon will be offering to make personalised videos for a fee of £78.75, which, compared to some of the other stars out there, is chump change.
Announcing the news on his Twitter, the presenter shared a clip of him cuddling his adopted pooch Maggie and confirmed a portion of the proceeds will be going to the Dog’s Trust.
He said: ‘I’ve joined Cameo! What is Cameo I hear you ask? I can send personalised messages to your family and friends whatever the occasion.
‘Initially, a portion of the proceeds will go to the @DogsTrust, a charity very close to my heart and where I adopted our lovely Maggie from!’
Eamonn added that as he continues on this illustrious Cameo journey he’ll also look at other charities who might benefit from the money he makes off the messages.
He wrote: ‘As the months go by, I’ll also look at donating money to other lesser-known charities and causes.’
The star is but one drop in the vast ocean of famous faces you see on Cameo, where stars can charge fans for video messages, with what they say completely up to the fan.
We’ve seen some rather cringe moments, such as when Carole Baskin was tricked into sharing a shout-out to Rolf Harris, but also some brilliantly wholesome, like when Lindsay Lohan helped a fan come out.
A message from Baywatch babe himself David Hasselhof will set you back around £360, while Marlon Wayans will send you a message if you have £720 to spare.
Lily Allen, Tom Felton, Paul Chuckle and Lance Bass are also some of the names who have shared their faces for your personalised message needs, while Inbetweeners star James Buckley reportedly banked a tidy £100,000 in the heady days of the pandemic after turning to the platform.
The stars who aren’t on Cameo are clearly missing a trick. Or are just bathing in their millions anyway, who knows.
