Chery has opened up about her new outlook on life, following a year-long break from social media.

The singer, 37, recently returned to Instagram with her first post in a year announcing: ‘We back **all covid tested,’ as she posed with her hair and make-up artists.

She revealed to Glamour that the break from the platform was hugely beneficial to her mental health, explaining: ‘The best thing that I’ve learned in the past year is having a break from social media is really, really healthy for your mind.’

Cheryl added that she is learning to embrace her own company, too: ‘I am learning that I can be absolutely fine without anybody, just me by myself. I’m learning to be happy just with me.

‘I’m learning to turn to myself for advice. It’s all in the process.’

The singer is thought to have been single since splitting from Liam Payne in 2018 after two years of dating and had previously been married to Ashley Cole and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.

The Fight For This Love star, who shares four year old son Bear with ex Liam, says becoming a mother is her greatest achievement in life.

She revealed how she is raising her son: ‘The best way to clap back at misogyny is to raise a man that sees everybody equally, man, and woman, and kills it in the world, in that mindset. In this day and age anyway.’

While Cheryl may have enjoyed her year’s hiatus from Instagram, her friends and fans were glad to see her post a rare selfie on the platform.

She used the post to tease a secret project and was able to be surrounded by a six-person glam team as they had all been tested for coronavirus prior to the shoot taking place.

Cheryl’s Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh was also glad to see her back on the platform, commenting: ‘There she is’ alongside heart eye emojis.
