Will Roger Federer Play Wimbledon Championships 2021?

20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer has never missed Wimbledon Championships in his career. From 1999 till 2020, he has won a record eight Wimbledon titles and has ended runner-up four times.

Last year, underdoing two knee surgeries, the Swiss maestro had to miss the entire season post the Australian Open. However, due to the pandemic outbreak, even Wimbledon got canceled for the first time since World War 2.

Now, for the 2021 season, both the oldest tennis tournament and the 103 ATP titles winner are back on the cards. So the question is: Will Roger Federer play at the Wimbledon Championships this year?

Moreover, the 39-year-old participated in the French Open 2021 to prepare himself for the two most critical weeks on grass. But while he progressed until the fourth round there, he withdrew afterwards, giving his body rest for the grass season.

Following that, Federer appeared on his home turf at the ATP Halle 2021. Although he was a record 10-time champion of the tournament, he saw an early exit against Canadian aspirant Felix Auger-Aliassime in the second round.

Thus, more than a few doubts shadow over the 2019 finalists’ campaign in Wimbledon this year. But given his world-class repertoire, every question settles down.

Unquestionably, all eyes will be on Federer as he steps on the preferred surface after two years. And so the next question is: Will Federer go the distance at Wimbledon?
