Piers Morgan slams Ant and Dec for saying he’ll join I’m A Celebrity: ‘There’s no way I’m exposing myself to ghastly gastronomic humiliations’
Sad news for those who would love to see how Piers Morgan fares in I’m A Celebrity, as the broadcaster has said there’s ‘no way’ he’d ever join the show.
The TV presenter quit Good Morning Britain after receiving record levels of complaints for doubting the Duchess of Sussex’s revelation that she considered suicide at the height of racist abuse.
Now there are many speculating what it is he might do next.
Piers took aim at I’m a Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec in his latest Daily Mail column, as they had joked on Lorraine earlier this week that Piers could be entering the jungle later this year.
The pair said they thought ‘he’d be absolutely amazing in there’.
‘”Well, he’s not working at the moment, so he’ll be looking for a job,” scoffed Ant, as Dec cackled like a slathering hyena at the thought of luring me into their hellish jungle prison camp,’ Piers wrote.
‘Let me make one thing crystal clear: there’s no way I’m ever exposing myself to a series of ghastly gastronomic humiliations for the delectation of the British public.
‘When I munch kangaroo testicles, I do so in the privacy of my home.’
Piers has been a target for Ant and Dec for a while now, as the duo has expressed their desire to see him in the Australian jungle on multiple occasions.
The broadcaster has previously said he would do it for a huge quantity of money, having once tweeted saying it would take £5million and another time he said £10million.
This comes after Lorraine Kelly predicted Piers would be back on Good Morning Britain one day as ratings continue to slide in his absence.
‘He will be back in some shape or form, I have no doubt,’ she told The Sun.
‘He’s still doing Life Stories and all of that. He’s tweeting his a** off and writing his columns.
‘I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back. Nothing would surprise me about Piers.’
The presenter recently claimed ITV had been in touch about a possible comeback and said: ‘Never say never.’
I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here is due to return to TV screens later this year
