Tahj Mowry has revealed he had a massive crush on Courteney Cox when he made his memorable cameo on Friends.

The 34-year-old actor appeared in a 1996 episode of the iconic sitcom – The One After The Super Bowl: Part 1 – as the small kid who rushes into Central Perk asking for ‘the singing lady who tells the truth’ in reference to Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow).

Along with several other children, Tahj’s character then plonks himself on the coffee shop’s famous couch right next to Courteney Cox.

It seems there was no one else the 10-year-old Tahj would rather be next to, as he recalled to Us Weekly: ‘I just remember how incredibly sweet the cast was. In between takes I remember sitting on that iconic couch sitting in between Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston just chatting it up.’

He then revealed: ‘Of course, I had the biggest crush on Courteney Cox. And I’m like, “Man, I’m really out here. I’m really sitting next to Courteney right now”. Those are very amazing memories. And just how iconic that entire coffee shop was. It’s pretty cool to think back on it all.’

Tahj, who is the younger brother of Sister Sister stars Tia and Tamera Mowry, also recalled the scene ‘taking a while’ to film because of the way it was shot.

‘It was obviously multi-cam, but some multi-camera shows tend to sometimes shoot in a single camera way. It kind of takes longer than it would like your classic multi-camera sitcom,’ he said.

‘You never push it in for a tighter shot. So you’re never behind walls or anything like that. It was definitely a different filming experience than how Full House or Smart Guy was. It was a little bit more meticulous.’

Tahj’s recollection comes just weeks after the main Friends cast – including David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry – reunited for a special HBO Max episode looking back on the iconic series.
