Love Island 2021: Who is Sharon Gaffka? Age, job and Instagram
Former pageant queen Sharon Gaffka was one of the first Love Island 2021 contestants to be confirmed.
Having won Miss International United Kingdom in 2018, Sharon went on to compete at the 58th annual Miss International pageant in Japan, but there is so much more to this Oxford-born beauty than the glamour of the pageant world.
After working for the Department of Health during the pandemic, Sharon is now ready to leave an ‘intense year’ of work behind her and look for love, but will she find someone in the villa who has the brains and brawn she is looking for?
Who is Sharon Gaffka?
Sharon is a 25-year-old Civil Servant from Oxford who has worked as an Operations Lead for the Department of Transport alongside her days in pageants. She is also training to become a lawyer.
‘I’ve been a civil servant since I was 18,’ Sharon revealed. ‘I’ve worked in lots of different departments. I’ve been doing Brexit policy for the last year, I did a stint during the Coronavirus pandemic in the Department of Health so I was helping deliver testing kits and managing the operations. It’s been an intense year!’
The 25-year-old has a sausage dog called Vienna who is a regular feature on her social media and describes herself as ‘the most outrageous one’ out of her group of friends.
‘It’s been a bit of a running joke between my friendship group for a while that I should apply [for Love Island],’ Sharon said.
‘Because of Covid and the lockdown, I’m the only single one in my friendship group. They’re either married or planning on getting married. I don’t want to be the only one in the group chat that is single anymore!’
Sharon Gaffka Instagram
With nearly 19,000 followers to date, Sharon is already somewhat of an Instagram influencer and regularly paps herself in outfits from brands such as Pretty Little Thing.
You can follow Sharon through her account @sharongaffka. She also has a home renovation account called @athomewithSharon_ which is currently set to ‘private’.
Love Island starts at 9pm Monday June 28 on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
