Slowthai welcomes first child with fiancee Kate Kischuk after teasing baby plans
Slowthai became a dad just in time for Father’s Day as he welcomed his first child with fiancee Kate Kischuk just hours before.
The Mercury Prize-nominated rapper recently became a dad with Kate announcing she had given birth on Friday.
Kate, who is also a musician, shared a sweet photo of their newborn’s tiny foot poking out of a towel as she cradled them.
Announcing the little one’s arrival and name, Kate wrote in the Instagram post: ‘Baby Rain is finally here.’
Slowthai joined in with the celebrations and commented: ‘Baby Rain The Ruler Master.’
He added to his fiancee: ‘I love you.’
In her Instagram stories, Kate shared a throwback photo from her pregnancy of her taking a selfie of her baby bump in a bathroom as a shirtless Slowthai looked on.
It comes just a few months after Slowthai, real name Tyron Frampton, admitted he was keen to become a father.
Speaking to ES Magazine, he said: ‘It’s something that I’ve always wanted. I want my kid to have a similar childhood to the one I had, because I didn’t see it as a bad thing.’
Slowthai and Kate, a Russian singer, had been living with his mother in lockdown when they got engaged last summer. At the time, they revealed they were planning on moving in together.
Hailing from Northampton, Slowthai, 26, rose to fame in 2019 with his debut album Nothing Great About Britain, which reached number nine on the UK charts. The record was critically acclaimed and scored a Mercury Prize nomination.
However it was his second album, Tyron, which claimed the number one.
Slowthai has seen his fair share of controversy in a short space of time, as he was accused of making inappropriate and misogynistic comments towards comedian Katherine Ryan at the NME Awards last year.
The musician later apologised for what he said but Katherine herself said she didn’t feel uncomfortable.
