Anthony Joshua Trashes Deontay Wilder: “He Isn’t an Elite-Level Fighter”

Over so many years, boxing fans have seen extensive rivalries between the best technicians of the sport. Some of these rivalries ended inside the squared circle, whereas some only stayed in the pipeline. One such cosmic feud that prevails in the heavyweight division today is between Anthony Joshua and the ex-WBC heavyweight champ, Deontay Wilder.

Both these hard-hitting heavyweights never spare a chance to mock each other. That said, recently, the unified heavyweight kingpin, Anthony Joshua, went all guns blazing against ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said, “He isn’t an elite-level fighter, in my opinion. He’s good. It’s the heavyweights, so they always know one punch can change the course of a fight.”

“But I’ve never, ever seen in the heavyweight division a fighter going to war with just one weapon, which is what they say is his right hand.

“As we’ve seen now with certain fights of elite-level fighters, he struggles at the top level, and there’s a lot more of us waiting for that opportunity as well to kick his ass.”

Wilder, in his last fight against Tyson Fury, got badly exposed with his game plan and strategies. The Brit smothered Wilder to the pulp and didn’t let him land his dynamite like right hands successfully in the fight. As a result, the world saw a fleck in the Alabama native’s game plan and ‘AJ’ in his above comments spoke on the same.
