‘His Time Will Come’- Aleksandar Rakic Sends a Stern Warning to Jan Blachowicz- Says He Will ‘Dismantle’ Jiri Prochazka

The UFC’s light heavyweight division has always been one of its most talent stack divisions. For the better part of a decade, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier ruled over the 205-pound. Jan Blachowicz ushered in a new era at light heavyweight when he knocked out Dominick Reyes at UFC UFC 253. He further showed that he is here to stay with a brilliant title defense over Israel Adesanya at UFC 259. 

Ahead of his second title defense later this year against Glover Teixeira, Blachowicz shared his thoughts on what should happen in the division next and who he would like to face after Teixeira. 

He said, “I believe that I will beat Glover and I will defend my belt again. After that, maybe they’re going to give me Jiri. I think he needs to do one more fight against Rakic, then we’re gonna know who’s going to be the next contender for the belt. And a lot of people forget about (Magomed) Ankalaev. He’s also in the game and maybe one of these guys will be my next opponent after Glover”

Rakic replied to the champ’s comments saying, “I agree with the champ @JanBlachowicz His time will come too after I dismantle Prochazka, I swear! Let’s keep the LHW division moving @danawhite @Mickmaynard2!!! #futurechamp”

Is Aleksandar Rakic vs Jiri Prochazka the fight to make at light heavyweight?

Both Rakic and Prochazka have taken the UFC by storm ever since they made their promotional debuts. Rakic is 6-1 in the UFC and is currently on a two-fight win streak after succumbing to a loss against Oezdemir in December 2019. He has secured an impressive 64% of his wins via T/KO and is extremely exciting to watch every time he steps into a UFC octagon. 

Prochazka, on the other hand, is undefeated since 2015 and is 2-0 in the UFC both wins have come via stoppages against former title challengers in Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes. He has secured a mind-boggling 89% of his wins via T/KO and therefore it is easy to see why he is evolving into a fan favorite.
