Styrian Grand Prix F1 2021 Main Race: Schedule, Timings and Where to Watch it Live

Following the cancelation of the Turkish Grand Prix because of COVID protocols, Red Bull Ring will host back-to-back Grands Prix, just as it did in 2020.

Although, the first race is titled Styrian Grand Prix because Red Bull Ring is located in Styria. The circuit is 4.326km (2.688 mi) long and comprises 10 corners.

This will be the second Styrian GP after its inclusion in the racing calendar last season because of the COVID pandemic. Lewis Hamilton won the inaugural Styrian GP followed by Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen to complete the podium.

The Styrian Grand Prix main race will begin on Sunday, 27th July at 3:00 PM local time.

Where and how to tune in for the French Grand Prix?

In the United States, the live coverage of the main race will start at 9:00 AM ET and will be broadcasted on ESPN. Meanwhile, Americans can watch the highlights on the official channel of F1 on YouTube.

In the UK, the race will be featured on Sky Sports F1 and the coverage will begin at 3:00 PM BST. Meanwhile, non-Sky subscribers can subscribe to F1 TV or will have to rely on highlights from Channel 4.

‘If we perform at our best we can beat them’: Andrew Shovlin

Max Verstappen overtook the 7-time world champion on the penultimate lap of the race with an aggressive and unexpected two-stop strategy key to his victory. Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas finished P4.

With this result, Red Bull extended their lead by 37 points over Silver Arrows in the Constructors’ Championship. In addition, this was the first time in the turbo-hybrid era that Red Bull have won three races on the trot.

Meanwhile, Mercedes trackside engineer Andrew Shovlin believes his team has everything it needs to win the title this season.

“The way we look at it is this team at its best can beat Red Bull. I think [in France] we saw that the opportunities we missed were the difference,” said Mercedes trackside engineering director Andrew Shovlin.

“We know it’s going to be difficult. We think that they [Red Bull] are the favourites. Clearly they’ve got a very good package, but if we perform at our best we can beat them and we can win the championship.”
