WATCH: Charles Leclerc Spotted at a Basketball Game With Girlfriend Charlotte Siné in Monaco

While the F1 season is in its most hectic phase, some drivers couldn’t resist the urge to head home to take a breather. One of those drivers was Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

Ahead of the Styrian Grand Prix this weekend, the Monegasque took a quick detour to head to his hometown, where he attended a basketball game to cheer on the home team.

With the F1 season in its highly anticipated triple header, the championship now heads to the Styrian mountains. While the Styrian Grand Prix commences this weekend, Spielberg will also host the Austrian Grand Prix the very next weekend.

After Leclerc endured a dismal outing in France, he took the short trip to the Principality. During his time in his hometown, the 23-year-old was spotted at a Ligue Nationale de Basket game between Monaco and Bourg-en Bresse. While Monaco won the game 91-72, the organisers put out a tweet with Leclerc attending the game with his girlfriend, Charlotte Siné.

Later in the day, Siné put out a short video of a drive with Leclerc after watching the game.

Although the Ferrari driver had a difficult race on Sunday, this getaway might just be what he needed heading into Austria.

Can Leclerc bounce back in Austria?

The Monegasque finished a lowly P16 in Le Castellet, which displayed Ferrari’s poor race pace. Although he has two pole positions this season, his struggles on Sunday meant he couldn’t convert those pole positions to podium finishes.

Despite his struggles in the past couple of races, he has a good track record in Austria. Leclerc took an impressive P2 in 2019, losing out to eventual winner Max Verstappen. In addition, Spielberg hosted a double-header last season. Although the Monegasque finished an impressive P2 in the first race, he recorded a DNF in the second race.

While his teammate Carlos Sainz already has a podium this season, Leclerc will hope to bounce back in Austria. Can the Monegasque’s track record here be the sign of good things to come on June 27? Only time will tell.
