Britney Spears’ boyfriend Sam Asghari wears #FreeBritney shirt ahead of conservatorship court hearing
Britney Spears’ boyfriend Sam Asghari made it clear he is fully in support of the #FreeBritney movement just hours before the singer’s highly-anticipated court hearing.
Wednesday saw the personal trainer turned actor post a picture on Instagram Story in which he could be seen wearing a top that appeared to have the famous slogan painted onto it.
The 39-year-old also added a subtle lion emoji to the post, which would likely be a reference to ‘Lioness’ – the pet name he uses to describe the pop superstar.
His post was shared amid the ongoing court case regarding Britney’s conservatorship, which she has been under since 2008.
In recent months, Britney has shown opposition to her dad’s role as conservator and the singer has requested that he be replaced by her care manager Jodi Montgomery.
According to new reports, the New York Times has shared details from ‘confidential court records’ which claim that Britney expressed ‘serious opposition’ to the conservatorship, which restricted everything from ‘whom she dated to the colour of her kitchen cabinets’.
Britney is set to speak to the Los Angeles court directly today during her hearing, which is being held remotely, after her lawyer told the judge earlier this year that the mother-of-two wanted to speak out ‘on an expedited basis’.
According to Page Six, Sam has been helping the singer prepare for the hearing by providing encouragement and support.
A source claimed: ‘Sam has been a huge support for Britney. He helps boost her confidence and assures her that everything will go well.
‘He has been following the #FreeBritney movement online for a while now and always tells Britney how much she’s loved and supported by fans.’
