Everything You Need to Know About Diamond Mine Member, Hideki Suzuki

WWE NXT closed with a bang this week as Diamond Mine made its long awaited debut! Roderick Strong returned to the black and gold brand as the leader of the new faction alongside Tyler Rust, Malcom Bivens, and Hideki Suzuki. While fans are no strangers to Rust and Bivens, not many know of Suzuki.

Hideki Suzuki – the latest Japanese addition to WWE NXT

Hideki Suzuki is a Japanese professional wrestler who has over a decade of experience in professional wrestling. Suzuki was a mainstay of Japanese independent wrestling promotions. He wrestled for various promotions such as Pro Wrestling Zero-1, AJPW, BJPW, DDT Pro-Wrestling, and even Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Suzuki is 41-years old and is a disciple of pro wrestling legend Billy Robinson. In fact, his Japanese nickname even translates to ‘Last Disciple of Billy Robinson.’ Either way, like Robinson, Hideki Suzuki is an immensely talented pro wrestler with a immaculate prowess in catch wrestling.

Hideki Suzuki learned under the learning tree of Billy Robinson for four long years before making his pro wrestling debut. He debuted in late 2008 for Inoki Genome Federation, a promotion where he spent almost six years! After leaving IGF, Suzuki wrestled for various promotion across the country.

Suzuki’s rise in wrestling on the Japanese circuit even earned him the title of ‘MVP’ of the Japanese independent wrestling scene! Nope, this isn’t a made up fact. But a title credited to him by Japanese channel, Samurai TV.

There were rumors of Hideki joining WWE earlier this year after he was spotted taking a flight to the United States. Interestingly, it was only a one-way flight, leaving everyone wondering what exactly is in store for Suzuki. It was later reported he has joined WWE as a coach at the Performance Center.

This isn’t the first time for Suzuki here as he had previously guest coached at the Performance Center. But now, it’s a full-time signing. What’s exciting to see is WWE isn’t closing the door with Suzuki’s wrestling. He can still go in the ring, and it’s a really good decision to put him on TV to showcase what he brings to the table.

Suzuki isn’t like the typical Japanese wrestlers we’ve seen in WWE. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs almost 250lbs! Now, that is a big and strong man. Something both, Vince McMahon and Triple H like. Will we see more of Suzuki beyond the Diamond Mine? We don’t know at this point. But he is a man you surely shouldn’t take your eyes off of.
