Jake Paul Feels He Could Fight Canelo Alvarez for the WBC Belt: ‘Sky Is the Limit’

The legend of the Paul brothers, Jake Paul and Logan Paul, continues to grow in the sport of boxing. Heralded as saviours of professional boxing by many, the entire world awaits on any updates regarding their next ring appearances.

Jake Paul, who knocked out MMA legend Ben Askren in his last outing, will take on former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley soon. However, Paul says that he sees himself accomplishing much bigger goals in boxing. In an interview with TMZSports, Paul highlights his ambition to fight Canelo Alvarez in the future.

When asked what could be his plans for the future, Paul appeared to be really open for whatever may come up for him in the horizon.

“I just want to continue to be the most disruptive boxer in the history of the sport and I think it’s taking it on a fight by fight basis and continuing to make these fights even bigger, take on more serious opponents,” he says.

Paul is all the hype in boxing at the moment. The future in pro-boxing seems to be bright for the 24-year-old. He shared his ambition to rise to the top of boxing in the future. “I don’t even want to think about or cap myself with the possibilities, be open minded and I think anything is possible. I think I could be fighting Canelo Alvarez for the WBC or WBO championship belt. Really the sky is the limit and it’s about how seriously I take it. And I take it more seriously than 99.9 percent of these “professional” boxers that are out there,” Paul asserts.

Jake Paul began professionally fighting alongside his brother Logan in 2018, when they fought fellow YouTuber/brothers KSI and Deji. “The Problem Child” proceeded to TKO Deji in the fifth. Paul has knocked out all of his opponents till no4w. Given the fact that he hadn’t really pursued combat in his life, his knock out over Ben Askren really pushed him in the limelight. His next bout against Tyron Woodley would be an even bigger test for him.

Like he said, anything is possible for “The Problem Child“. If he continues to show up like he did in his last fight, his impact on boxing could multiply manifolds. If he continues to make waves, it isn’t that hard to see him actually competing against guys like Canelo or even Conor McGregor who he has called out before.
