Too Hot To Handle season 2 star Emily Miller has hit back after a keyboard warrior accused her of blackfishing.

The latest 10-part series, which sees a group of single individuals enter a house test whether they can resist their romantic desires, arrived on Netflix on Wednesday.

While viewers have already been soaking up the action, one turned their attention to Emily’s skin tone and in a scathing post, wrote: ‘this bitch is BLACKFISHING. like i really thought she was black but she’s pale as hell.’ (sic)

Blackfishing is the term used to describe when someone alters their appearance to look like a different race.

More subtle than overt brown or blackface, blackfishing sees people capitalising on their ability to look racially ambigous and/or Black.

Emily had the perfect response to the accusation though, and simply wrote back: ‘I’m Indian hun.’

Blackfishing is a controversial topic because, while blackfishers don’t usually act with malice, the act is part of a much larger cultural problem that sees non-Black people benefiting from their appropriation of Black culture and stereotypically Black features.

Meanwhile actual Black people continue to be discriminated against and criticised for the same things.

Emily is one of 10 singletons in the cast for Too Hot To Handle season two, which also features a professional football player, a Magic Mike-style stripper and a model who is one of 16 siblings.

The contestants have to refrain from having any intimate contact with each other for four weeks if they want in with the chance of splitting a mouth-watering $100,000 (£71,000) cash prize at the end of their stay.

Too Hot Hot To Handle season 2 is available to stream now on Netflix.
