VIDEO: ‘Puerto Rican Mike Tyson’ Edgar Berlanga Jr. Gets Dropped in Sparring

There are countless young guns in boxing who’ve sent shock waves in the entire fight world. And one such stalwart on that list is the ‘Puerto Rican Mike Tyson’, Edgar Berlanga Jr. The 24-year-old, who has amassed vast fame and attention in a brief span of time, is going supremely strong with the same even today.

But, in his recent sparring session, Berlanga Jr. got abruptly dropped by Erickson Lubin. This video is doing rounds on social media and has shaken everyone to the core.

FightHype.com released this video on its YouTube channel. In this video, Berlanga Jr. initially landed some fiery shots on his sparring partner. He even showed some solid defensive skills and ate a few big shots from Lubin. But the latter came up with some eye-catchy combinations that left the 24-year-old on the canvas.

The last time Berlanga Jr. made a ring appearance was in April 2021. In this 8-round super-middleweight contest, he locked horns with Demond Nicholson. Many expected ‘The Chosen One’ to win this fight with another T/KO. However, he took this fight to the final bell and claimed a UD.

Prior to this fight, Berlanga Jr. had won all his bouts via T/KO.

Also, with a win over Nicholson, the undefeated boxer moved his professional boxing record to 17 wins, moving closer to the bigwigs of the 168-pound division.
