All Stars 6: Jiggly Caliente second Drag Race queen eliminated in emotional scenes – or is she?
Warning: spoilers ahead for All Stars 6.
Just two episodes in, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6 is pulling out the big guns with its challenges, having the competitors dress for a ball that saw Jiggly Caliente fall at the final hurdle.
After the season premiere set the queens the task of showcasing their talent in a variety show, the second instalment of the Drag Race spin-off invited the cast to a ball – specifically, the Blue Ball.
During Jiggly’s previous appearance on Drag Race in season four, she struggled with the fashion challenge when she had to create her own garment from scratch.
So it was always going to be a struggle for the Pose star to do so again for her third ball ensemble, something that was picked up by the judges.
Despite impressing with her first two outfits, Jiggly landed in the bottom two with last week’s winner Yara Sofia.
Ra’Jah O’Hara, this week’s maxi challenge winner, went up against lip sync assassin Brooke Lynn Hytes for a chance to win a cash prize and also be the one to choose who would be sent home.
After the two queens wowed everyone with their incredible lip sync performance, RuPaul called a tie – meaning that both the queen that Ra’Jah had chosen and the queen voted for by the rest of the competitors were at risk of being sent home.
Had Ra’Jah chosen one queen and the rest of the cast chosen another, then that could have resulted in a double elimination.
Nonetheless, Jiggly was selected by both Ra’Jah and the remaining queens, with Ru telling her to sashay away.
The drag queen delivered heartfelt words to the camera as she bid an emotional farewell, saying: ‘Am I gutted? Yeah, it hurts. But at the same time my time here wasn’t a waste.’
Jiggly, who came out as trans in 2016, said: ‘All Stars was a way for me to reintroduce myself to you. This doesn’t break me, this doesn’t end me. This is not the last of me.’
It certainly isn’t, as the episode ended in an identical way to episode one – with Ru appearing on screen in the Werk Room as Jiggly packed her bags to inform her that her journey isn’t quite over.
‘Jiggly!’ Ru shouted from the TV screen. ‘What is a riddle, that is not a riddle, but is a game within a game? Do you want to play?’
‘Oh I’m playing the game,’ Jiggly replied, before adding: ‘What’s going on?’ Your guess is as good as ours, Jiggly.
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 6 is available to watch on Netflix and WOW Presents Plus.
