Amanda Holden tells Piers Morgan he’s ‘punching’ as he marks anniversary with wife Celia Walden
Amanda Holden has shared a cheeky dig at Piers Morgan as the he celebrated his wedding anniversary with wife Celia Walden.
The broadcaster, 56, marked 11 years of marriage to journalist Celia Walden, 45, with a throwback photo from the couple’s first date.
He wrote alongside it: ‘#tbt Wardour Street, Soho, December 13, 2005…. this photo appeared in the papers with the headline: “Piers caught in rickshaw at 2am with mystery blonde”.
‘We got married five years later. 11 years ago today, in fact. Happy Anniversary @celia.walden – you lucky lady.
‘The boots were a good call, without those I doubt I’d have seen you again.’
Amanda, 50, couldn’t resist hopping in the comments to joke: ‘Punchin’’, followed by a crying laughing emoji and a red heart.
Celia also shared a similarly jokey message to her husband, writing: ‘May 2005. Seconds after we first met.
‘I remember thinking: “Do I really want to have my picture taken with this guy?” Happy anniversary Mr Morgan.’
It comes after Piers spoke out in support of Britney Spears, calling for her to be freed from her conservatorship.
In his column for MailOnline, Piers said Britney had become ‘a modern-day slave of the very worst freedom-denying kind’, and urged the judge to release the star ‘from her living hell’ after she spoke out in court.
The former Good Morning Britain host wrote: ‘It was stunning to hear the brutal reality from Britney’s own mouth, in her own powerful, eloquent, often rapid-fire words.
‘It was like she couldn’t wait to finally have her say, and who could blame her for the obvious frustration and anger?’
Piers added: ‘Britney has now laid bare, clearly and shockingly, the horrifyingly draconian prison-like conditions under which she has to endure her life in this conservatorship,’ and urged the judge to remove the conservatorship rule.
