Roger Federer in Disbelief as His Tennis Goodies Auction Raise £1.3 Million for RF Foundation
Apart from being the tennis maestro, Roger Federer is also among the topmost philanthropists in the world. For more than 17 years now, his foundation has improved educational opportunities for children in Africa. Moreover, the Swiss champion has always been keen on finding new ways to take his cause ahead.
From new collaborations to innovative routes, the 39-year-old keeps his foundation priorities at the forefront. Recently, he joined with Christie’s to auction his tennis memorabilia for raising funds. The event took place through a Live Auction and an Online Auction.

Now, the results of the Live Auction have arrived, and they have exceeded expectations, and Federer will hope for similar results from Online Auction, which would be active from July 13-14.

Roger Federer expresses gratitude after raising more than £1.3 million for his foundation
Notably, 20 lots of memorabilia of Roger Federer’s were auctioned Live on June 23, 2021, at Christie’s. While they expected to raise £1 million, the actual figure was around £1,329,375,000.
Notably, the highest contributors in this auction were lot 13 and lot 10, which went for more than £150,000 each. They were Federer’s Champion Outfit and the Racquet of the 2009 French Open and 2007 Wimbledon Championships, respectively.
Naturally, Federer felt ecstatic after hearing the news. “I can hardly believe that the first 20 lots raised £1,329,375. I want to thank all those who bid for my sporting memorabilia and wish the buyers much joy with them,” he said.
The funds raised in these two auctions will provide comfort and education to underprivileged children in Africa and Switzerland. “I feel very humbled by this first result today knowing the proceeds will allow additional projects that can be undertaken by The Roger Federer Foundation,” the maestro added.
Now, Federer is looking forward to seeing the results from the Online Auction of his sporting memorabilia, he is also gearing up to play at The Championships 2021 at Wimbledon.
The Online Auction has a 300 lot memorabilia belonging to the 20-time Grand Slam champion. It encompasses Federer’s entire career from the 2000 Sydney Olympics to matches from 2021.
Inarguably, the achievement of this auction will be as gratifying for Roger as winning his record-extending ninth Wimbledon title. It will be a dream week if both come true!
